Students Profile

The Student Council of T.K.M. Centenary Public School provides deserving students with valuable opportunities to develop leadership, responsibility, teamwork, and decision-making skills. It allows students to gain practical experience in managing school activities while understanding real-life responsibilities within the school community.

The council functions through a structured hierarchy where duties are delegated at different levels. This system helps students understand accountability, cooperation, discipline, and service, while encouraging them to actively participate in the smooth functioning of school programmes and activities.

Assessment & Promotion

The scholastic performance of students is assessed continuously throughout the academic year. Promotion to the higher class is not based only on the final examination, but on the overall performance of the student in all assessments conducted during the year.

For higher classes, the school conducts three major examinations: Quarterly Examination, Half-Yearly Examination, and Annual Examination, generally held in August/September, December, and March respectively. In addition, regular mid-term tests are also conducted to evaluate the progress of students.

Attendance in all examinations and tests is compulsory. The final assessment and promotion are based on the student’s performance in these examinations. In subjects such as SUPW, Physical and Health Education, and Art Education, students are required to secure a minimum of 40% in each subject and an aggregate of 50% for promotion to the higher class.

No re-examination or special examination will be arranged for reasons such as transfer of guardians, illness of students, or any other personal circumstances, except as permitted under school rules.

Leave Rules

Leave may be granted to a student only by the Principal. A leave application should be submitted to the school on the same day or latest by the next working day, duly signed by the parent or guardian.

During tests and examinations, leave will not normally be granted except in genuine emergency situations. In case of illness, a medical certificate issued by a registered medical practitioner must be submitted along with the leave application.

If a student remains absent for ten continuous working days without submitting a leave application, his or her name may be removed from the school rolls. Re-admission will be considered only if a vacancy is available and subject to the approval of the school authorities.
